Chelmsford Quadrant Department Store welcomes 'Millbrook Beds'...

Millbrook beds are traditionally upholstered using only the finest natural fillings.

By using natural fillings such as British wool, silk, pashmina, cashgora and cotton in their mattresses, they create a mattress which is truly sumptuous and luxurious.

With the return of good craftsmanship growing, the demand for true quality is becoming more popular.

Your Millbrook bed should therefore be treasured as an investment, not only for its inherent quality, but also for the luxurious comfort you will enjoy – allowing you to awaken relaxed and refreshed.

Climate Change Will Kill Coffee!

Climate change is ruining coffee crops and forcing more farmers to grow sugar-cane as an alternative.

This was the message told to a crowded room at Chelmsford Star Co-op’s annual Fairtrade Evening, held at Chelmsford Quadrant this week. The speaker, a co-operative Coffee Farmer from Peru, Hugo Javier Guerrero Alberca, warned it would lead to less availability of everyone’s favourite pick-me-up, plus increased prices.

Chelmsford Star supports Anglo European School's Year 9 Enterprise Days

On 25th and 26th February, our Marketing Co-ordinator, Emily attended the Anglo European School to assist with their year 9 enterprise days. This involved presenting to the pupils about what marketing is all about and how they need to use it in their projects for the day ahead!

The objective for each day is to teach the pupils all about running a business. The task was to come up with an idea for an ethical food business in teams of 10-12 pupils.

Putting the 'fun' in fundraising!

Thrill seekers young and old can now purchase heavily discounted entry tickets to an Essex theme-park, thanks to an ‘everybody wins’ initiative between Southend’s Adventure Island, Danbury Park School and the Co-op store in Danbury, owned by Chelmsford Star Co-operative.

Essex’s number 1 theme park, which reopens for the winter season on February 15th, is providing the Danbury community with greatly reduced tickets that can be used at any point in the year, and the good news is that every time one is purchased from the local store, the nearby school will earn money.
