Members flocked to Chelmsford this week as they gathered for a Cheese & Wine Tasting Evening at the Quadrant department store.
Hosted by Essex Wine School’s Neil Bull, the sold-out event allowed members to sample five different Co-op wines and cheeses, with the best pairing voted to be Co-op Irresistible Malbec (winner of a 2022 Decanter World Wine Award) and the Co-op Irresistible Belton Farm Vintage Red Fox, an aged Red Leicester cheese with “a delightfully unexpected crunch”.

Feedback for the event was overwhelmingly positive, with members enjoying the “fun, informative presentation and light-hearted social atmosphere”. The evening itself was planned after the success of a Wine & Chocolate Tasting that took place earlier this year as part of Fairtrade Fortnight.
Other pairings included; Co-op Irresistible Prosecco with Co-op Somerset Brie, Codorniu Albarino with Co-op Irresistible Manchego, Co-op Irresistible Gavi Broglia with Co-op Wensleydale, and Co-op Irresistible Fairtrade Pinotage with Co-op Extra Mature Cheddar.
Another event is planned for early next year.
