Chelmsford, 27th June 2025 – On one of the hottest days of the year, Chelmsford Star Co-op led a community effort to clean up Central Park, bringing together a fantastic group of volunteers determined to make a difference.
Despite the heat, volunteers turned out on Friday to take part in the clean-up, collecting large amounts of litter from across the park’s pathways, play areas, and green spaces. Equipped with gloves, bags, and a strong sense of civic pride, the group worked tirelessly throughout the afternoon.
“We were blown away by the support,” said Kevin Bennett – Head of Membership & Marketing at Chelmsford Star Co-op. “The sun was relentless, but so was the community spirit. Everyone really pulled together to help make Central Park a cleaner, more welcoming space.”
From plastic bottles and food wrappers to larger debris, the volunteers collected a significant amount of rubbish, leaving the park noticeably tidier by the afternoon. The event not only improved the environment but also inspired conversations about sustainability and the importance of taking care of local spaces.
“We’re proud to be part of such a proactive and caring community,” Kevin added.
