It was announced on 24th June that a historic merger was being proposed between Chelmsford Star Co-operative and Central Co-op. You can read the full article here.
A Special General Meeting was held on 16th July 2025 to discuss and vote on the proposal. The resolution was passed by the required 2/3 of members’ votes. As required by legislation, a second meeting to confirm the transfer of engagements will be held on Tuesday 5th August. Please find notice and agenda below.
We understand some members will have questions, so have included links to a Q&A information sheet below, along with directions to the Special General Meeting.
Those wishing to attend should pre-register by emailing kevinb@chelmsfordstar.coop with their membership number, and should ensure they bring their membership card with them on the evening.
A minimum of 6 months membership is required to be eligible to vote or attend.
