Co-op Torquay Road, in Springfield, is the latest Chelmsford Star Co-op store to get a brand new look and a revamp, with very small disruption to the service they provide the local community.
On hand to help with the relaunch were pupils from nearby pre-school Tyrrell’s Primary School, who cut the ribbon with store manager Michelle Peacock and Society President Tony Price. Pupils and parents from the school are frequent visitors to the store and they were the first choice to help on opening day.
The works team turned the store around in less than a week, with only one day’s closure to the public. Despite this, there have been large changes to the internal fittings, not least of which was the lowering of shelving units to open up the store, the addition of new hot food and drink to go options and fitting extra parcel collection services.
Next time you’re in Springfield, take a look at the store and say hello to Michelle and her team!
