Co-op Funeral Directors is part of the Chelmsford Star Co-op family.
As a long-established firm of Funeral Arrangers in Essex, with a heritage dating back to 1936, we are proud to serve our local communities and in many cases have been supporting families throughout the generations.
We care passionately about the customer service we offer, from the moment of first contact until after the funeral service, providing bereavement support groups for people who would like additional support.

Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society Ltd is currently seeking a Casual Bearer for our Funeral Division.
The Job:
Reporting to the Funerals Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be required to:
– Be on call every other week
– Assist in the removal of the deceased from their home
– Serve as a bearer for funerals when requested
The Person:
You will:
– Be a team player
– Have good communication skills
– Possess a driving licence
The Rewards:
– £40 per week for Standby
– £48 per removal
– £30 bearer payment for Chelmsford Funerals
– £40 bearer payment for all other locations
